At last we had a day that felt something really like Autumn! I don't know what this vine is called (Apache plumes?), but this time of year it is very pretty, growing wild along the roadside fences.

I love this picture of Apache Plumes and used to love seeing them when the seed pods would burst open. We used to have one nearby when we lived on the farm and I looked for it every year.

This is so beautiful and dreamy. Is it true that these plants can grow up to 6feet?
I looked on a botanist website - realised that Apache Plumes something completely different from what I thought. The flower looks like a rock rose - very pretty. That's the interesting thing about close-ups, I imagined this as like our clematis, a big wild vine type plant. On the web it looks like a shrub. Lovely plant.
