I used to think this was called a Bird of Paradise tree, but now after googling it I'm not so sure. Even without a definite name, its drying leaves are pretty, though.
I can see why this could be called the Bird of Paradise tree as the leaves look very much like the plumes of the bird. Again, I have never seen anything like this.
Are you thinking of the Mimosa? We used to call it the Bird of Paradise. Remember when I took a picture of you hanging upside down from one and later when I looked at the picture and said "Oh the bird of paradise" and you thought I meant you? Well, you still are my Bird of Paradise :)
Very beautiful, whatever its name is. Very delicate and tender looking. As if it could crumble in your hand. That's how things look here when they are frosted over, I assume you get frost there as well?
