I looked at it and thought, what sort of an exotic creature is this? Believing that in Texas anything is possible.

But no, it is a plant type creature and not some alien animal thing that lives in the desert.

How aptly it has been named by those early pioneers, I gather. I suppose it sticks to your clothes when you walk past it, but how large is it? It looks humongous.

Everything in Texas is large, so I suppose this is also. It does have a lovely color, as if it has true blood running though its veins.

It looks very hardy, so I suppose it is used to harsh conditions, which you have enough of over there.

I tell you, I admire those people who first settled there. They were either foolhardy or brilliant. I can't make up my mind. I wouldn't have been one of them, I know that.
