They are so perfect in every way and one can only imagine the even tinier flowers and worlds that are most certainly there that are unknown to us.

Reminds me of a tiny flowering cactus. I like the title to this -it says it all really, even though you couldn't find the name in your book lol

I said a heliotrope, but when I looked at pictures on Google they looked different - much bigger flowers than I thought - so I deleted. I checked in my flower book and it is, but it is called heliotropium europaeum - if it is a hairy grey plant and the ends curl over. Otherwise, maybe a white gromwell.

it is a species of cryptantha...one of six in west texas...
