Virgin's Bower

"Virgin's Bower" (in seed)
August 2008
Pecos River, near Sheffield, Texas

I've taken a gazillion pictures of this plant. I can't get over how beautiful it is at this stage of its life. Perhaps the name "Virgin's Bower" suits it while in bloom, but when it's in seed I prefer to think of it as "Crone's crown."

In all my years out there I don't recall ever seeing this plant. You make it look beautiful.

It's a masterly shot of a very unusual plant. You do indeed make it look beautiful.

These are the sort of wild shots I came to truly love on your blog!

I also love the old wood photo, very clever shot and 3 types of wood in various forms and stages.

Merry Christmas to you!!

I just love this! It is an amazing creation, and a wonderful shot. So lovely, I'd love to see the plant in person.
