Chickens at home
Kitten chasing her chickens
I went by Star Bright's the other day and got a tour of the new chicken coop. Here's a picture of Kitten chasing them, trying to get a hold of one. So far, the chickens can out run and out maneuver her.
The chicken count is 7. Plus or minus three more.
Sadly, the gimpy legged one did not survive. And the three littlest ones are free spirits, escaping in and out of the coop at will. With all the dogs and wild critters around, it will be quite the surprise if they live long enough to outgrow being able to escape out the fence.

She is too cute! What a mischievous expression on her face. And those eyes! But here's a tip, Katlynn: you can run faster without the purse!
Rima, I can trust you always to make me laugh.
Hope Katlynn enjoys her chickens. Lovely for kids to have first hand experience of chickens like this. They look like they've got a lot of room to move about in and a lot of soft clean hay. But they also look like very fast little chickens....
Oooops I meant to say...
Rima, I have not seen that kid without a purse in tow for over a month now. Crazy kid!
While I have been writing up this comment, Katlynn tells me in a semi-whiny voice, "I wanna see Grannie's blog". And now is trying to type with me saying, "I'm trying to do my email". WHAT!?! A 3 year old who knows about email and blogs, sheeze. And I and mom have joked many times before, she will soon take over doing our (a little bit country) blog and post much much more than I. Again - Crazy kid!
Love seeing my little great-grand doing all these fun things, chasing chickens, carrying her purse. She is such a busy, busy girl. Yes, it won't surprise me either when she starts blogging. Probably next week. Tee hee.
Good Morning Katlynn!! You are adorable... Hannah loves your chickens. She wishes she had some right now. Soon!! I will post some of our old chickens when Hannah was about your age, with our goats too! :)
Debi,
I absolutely love this... We love the experience of chickens with small children, it teaches them so much. :)Oh, I can hear the chickens calling us. :)
Have a fabulous day!! We are off to Albaster Carving Class, watch for photos later. hehehehe
Antigone, in another 3 years, it will be "high heels" AND a purse, then lipgloss, high heels and the purse. She'll be wearing them while she's emailing fans of her blog.
Maya was her age when she decided she didn't need me to get into my laptop, get on the internet, find Nick Jr. and her favourite game, type in her own name and start playing. They're both into Webkinz now - never heard of them? You will, that's in another 15 months or so for you... Heaven help us.
Adorable - is she as naughty as she looks? - such a fun pretty little thing.
I love her purse - when mine was that age it was hats.
She used to love old ladies' hats from the charity shop - when she started school she used to wear a different hat each day - wherever we went we used to get her a hat of some sort... funny girls - that age has such an independent view of the world.
Aww! Aunty's little Angel. She needs that purse to carry all of her stuff in. She just CANNOT do without some things. Like her 20+ pens and journal. Oops. Now I'm talking about me. D'oh! ;) I can't wait to be home again!
Katlynn got your dimples! And those big eyes look like she's already discovered the secret of life!
Whenever you guys want a break (and that includes you Rima), send me the girls!! I have a son whom I absolutely adore but I wouldn't mind a change of pace for a change. Wanna trade?
Katlynn I have a little picture for you. Check my blog!
