Trumpet vine pods
Trumpet vine pods (outside)
I liked the shape of these trumpet vine pods, especially the little "hats" at the top, and the bumpy texture of the pods themselves. I had no idea I was getting such a nice shot of the yellow jacket wasp. A happy accident.

Well, he is certainly checking you out...wait, wait...is that a tiny camera in his hand?
Seriously, this is a wonderful shot of trumpet vine pods, I've seen them all my life and just forgotten how unusual they are. Kay calls it hummingbird vine..how apropro!
*shudder* I'm not sure that I would call it happy that you were that close to a yellow jacket. These things really give me the girly heebie jeebies.
I agree with Audrey. But it was a very nice upclose pic of the pods. Very pretty.
Awesome photo!! Would you share your up close techniques... I know it is probably different for each camera, but it might inspire me to try. :)
I love the bumps on these pods... yes, and the hats. :) Again, grat photo!
You are just so adept - I have to agree, tell us how you get such sharp definition and focus at these ranges, mine are often so blurry. My camera seems to have a mind of it's own and keeps changing focus on closeups.
Debi, I will come back to write more. Just read something in today's l'Orient-LeJour newspaper which might interst you: a touring apron exhibit...check it out http://www.apronchronicles.com
Okay, going to have coffee now :)
