Cotton

Cotton boll on cotton sheet

Off on another Saturday photographic adventure! But this time with a twist. Today Donna and I are headed to Denver City (pop approx 4,000) to interview a decorated WW II vet who was also the sheriff of Yoakum County for 20 years.

This is our first scheduled interview. Hopefully it will turn into an article with photos that we can sell to an interested publication. In any case, it should be educational and, as always with Donna and me, should be fun.

Love that photo - cotton boll placed just right to cast an interesting shadow. What an exciting day you will have today. Can't wait to hear about it. Congratulations! I don't doubt you two will be successful in this endeavor.

what a lovely series you're creating here - your subjects are treated like some precious silversmithing creations.

It DOES look like the presentation of silver ware, even down to the linen.

Great news about the interview, I always thought you should be making money out of this!

The background is very sensual - almost Edward Weston-ish. Or I have been in a submarine too long.

LOVE this cotton boll. I have always liked them, something about the texture and color appeals. Again, the black and white really spotlights the subject and makes the whole very satisfying to look upon. I hope your trip today was all fun and that your interview is met with success. Just bring out the Debi charm, he won't be able to resist.

Debi, first of all, there is still an award for you on my post of February the 6th, so please come and get that.

The cotton boll is lovely and so delicate on that white background, yet at the same time it looks very strong and indestructible.

I am glad that you are doing these simple still lives. They are so pleasing to look at. It also shows that you have mastery of the camera and that is quite an art.
