Gnomes, Yes or No?

Yard Gnomes
O'Donnell, Texas

I can't decide whether I am a gnome person. They are cute, sure, but what is the guy on the left doing exactly?

What about you, a gnome person or not?

Not. A little creepy. Not sure of who/what they are and what they want from me.

Sorry. I meant to leave one lousy comment and it repeated on me. Happens.

In the Netherlands, certain kinds of people have gnomes in their yards and I don't want to be one of those people. So I say a very loud NO to gnomes. Also any other kinds of statues or windmills or wheelbarrows with flowers in them.

We have several groups of people here with extreme views on gnomes. The Gnome Liberation Movement, who do what you might imagine and another shady organisation who once kidnapped a large number of garden gnomes and held them ransom, issuing photos of them lined up precariously on a bridge over a rushing stream.... LOL
As for me, live and let live. I don't have any gnomes myself - but have no objection to others indulging.

I'm not sure if I like them or not. What ARE they anyway?

GIL, I think you are safe. After reading up on gnomes, I've learned they are cunning but rarely nefarious. Perhaps they are the ones that made your comment duplicate itself many times?

Gossamer, there are other purists such as yourself and as I myself was once. (No burros pulling wagons for me!) But,I don't know, the older I get...

Frances, the GLM?! That's funny. I see upon reading more that gnome snatching is quite the pastime for some of your countrymen.

Bobbie, gnomes help your garden to grow at night. Just before their arrival you might notice brightly-colored mushrooms popping up in odd places. ;)
