Your eloquent and sincere post tugged at my heart strings. You articulated a lot of issues which I could not put my finger on, especially recording the presence of our existence. thank you, thank you!
Indeed Debi, why do we blog? I know a few of these answers, but I honestly hadn't thought to ponder any deeper. I will ponder, if I am able, because I too want to know the answer to this question that I ask myself.
Well you've got me talking about the beautiful and exotic wildlife of Texas with my husband, which is something I would never has previously envisaged happening!
Some blogs are written to be read, others are written for the sake of being written, read or not. Yours, I think, is of the former variety. Your blog is like LIFE magazine, except it's the life of one, tied into the lives of others, and not just family and friends. Anyone reading this blog could find something to relate to, as distant and personal as the topics might seem. Like the best blogs, it's universal, and driven by equal parts of talent and heart.
I have a lot to say about this topic and about your blog, and the joy you bring to us, your faithful readers. But I'll tackle this in detail elsewhere. For now, I just wanted to add to the last comment: this blog is not just for reading, the exquisite photography and small glimpses of artwork are what make yours such a wonderfully satisfying place to visit. It's a synergy that is not found in any other medium... more later...
How could I say anything different? I read your post and the comments. There is nothing left unsaid. I'm very grateful that blogging has stayed a staple in our lives, even if handwritten letters proved to be just a bit beyond our reach. Although we are 2000 miles apart I don't think I could be any closer in heart to you. You and your blog are very treasured. Thank you so much for sharing.
Very well said Debi! I started blogging originally to keep long distance immediate family informed of our daily doings, but have realized they are the ones who really don't comment. The commentors are the family and friends who I really did not know so well - and through their blogs and comments I have come to know them maybe for the first time! And I REALLY like them! Such as you! Have a great Day and keep blogging!
