Hey! Rima stole my comment! That was exactly what I was going to say. How do you keep on discovering "new" things from paths you must have taken hundreds of time...Amazing! The pic reminds me of a merry-go-round up in the sky.
I always thought those looked like UFOs. Especially when the fog was obscuring the poles and so they were just lights in the sky.
