Fall keeps creeping in

"Walther" Field
Odessa, Texas

It's hard for me to believe this is the same field that just a few weeks ago we had our "living thing" contest. Almost all those blooming flowers — and we counted at least 25 species — have now gone to seed. Ah, the cycle of life.

Below, though, are a few critters who don't seem to mind; either bloom or seed is just fine.

Those critters look quite autumnal too. The butterfly looks like an autumnal leaf. Maybe it is something to do with camouflage.

I like the way things weather in the dry desert. They get such a beautiful color, just as interesting as when they were living. I wonder what these insects were doing. Reminiscing about days gone by?

I agree bobbie, West Texas has such a beauty all it's own. Debi you capture it so well.

Leave it to you to find beauty in a barren landscape. Very well done, all those shades of brown.I wonder when I'll fall in love with my camera and become as astute as you are?
