Lost in weeds

"Winter Tapestry"
Off Loop 338
Odessa, Texas

I love weeds.

This is part of a long series of photos I got home with yesterday. I sat cross-legged in a field of knee-high dry weeds, poking my camera through them. I set my camera to "telephoto," on my camera that's zoomed all the way out in macro. It creates this dreamy depth of field. As much as I love these photos when I get home, I love composing them in my view finder. It's a delightful, tiny world in which to get lost.

The weeds in the foreground look like bluebells, I can just see you as you wonder about all you see.

I love weeds too! I don't think of weeds as a bad thing, ie; "weeding the garden". These weeds are lovely.

Your plants always look like they are deeply engaged in something serious and important, or frivolous yet still important!

This is a lovely photo! The color and the mixture of soft and sharp shapes and angles makes it riveting. I love how you find the beauty in things the rest of us would dismiss.

The other day, I was out walking and saw a stand of dead flowers. Normally, I would have walked right by and not given it a second glance, but I stopped and asked myself, "How would Debi photograph this?" I made an attempt, but am not pleased with the results. Next time, I think I'll try sitting down and shooting. I have a feeling, based on your results, I'll have a better outcome. And, as Kim points out, I just might hear what they're conversing about!

Are you sure we're not sisters? Adopted out maybe?

I totally get what you said here. I would love to share my weeds with you...

Thanks for your lovely visit the other day:)
